ATD Secures Decarbonisation Grant to Enhance Energy Efficiency
14/03/2025
ATD secured two grants totalling £112,500 from the Decarbonisation Net Zero Programme. This funding enabled a vital re-roofing project on Unit 2, paving the way for solar panel installation to boost our energy efficiency and sustainability. The new overclad pitched roof also tackled asbestos concerns, enhanced thermal insulation, and reduced energy loss.
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we’ve already implemented solar PV systems and LED lighting upgrades. The newly installed solar panels now supply a significant share of our electricity, cutting carbon emissions by over 25 tonnes and saving more than £30,000 annually.
Finance Director, John Sandford, praised Jonathan Howl of Coventry City Council for his instrumental role in securing the grant. He ensured a smooth application process and provided invaluable guidance throughout. This initiative has significantly reduced ATD’s environmental footprint while delivering substantial cost savings.
